Jilted Judge’s Wife Turns Beautiful Country Home into Luxury B&B

Starting a bed and breakfast is something many people dream of – buying a house in the country and opening its doors to guests from around the world – but for Lucy Mostyn, turning her home into a B&B was less a calling than a necessity.

But friends say she has little other option, according to an article in the Daily Mail, after her husband, High Court judge and celebrity divorce lawyer Sir Nicholas Mostyn, left her for a younger woman.

Sir Nicholas earns £172,000 a year in his role as High Court judge, and commands up to £500 an hour for his legal services. His ex-wife now has to let out rooms of her home for £60 a night to make ends meet.

Guests, however,  are in for a treat. With its swimming pool, tennis courts and beautiful gardens in a rural setting near Hertford, the Danes makes the perfect destination for a country escape.

A ‘slap-up’ breakfast is prepared each morning on the Aga, using eggs and bacon fresh from the farm next door. Pets are welcome, and there are even stables for those with horses.

The period property is set on the edge of a charming village with a local pub and plenty of countryside walks to be enjoyed.

Would like to book rooms at The Danes, Hertfordshire, run by Mrs Lucy Mostyn, but cannot find any information via internet. Please can you let me know where The Danes Bed & Breakfast is & how I may book?

Would be most grateful. With many thanks.
