Head to Bath for an Easter escape

I may not have got round to taking ‘Driving Home For Christmas’ off my iPod yet, but the Christmas break is at this point just a distant memory, while summer holidays are still too far away to get excited about. So it’s just as well Easter is coming up. Why not make the best of that precious time off and book yourself a few days away? Don’t worry, if you’re good the Easter Bunny will still find you…

Struggling to choose between a city break or an escape to the country? Enjoy the best of both with a trip to Bath, an elegant city surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside.

The whole of Bath city centre is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its graceful Georgian architecture and the hot springs which have drawn visitors for over 2,000 years. Key attractions include the Roman Baths, the medieval Bath Abbey and the grand Royal Crescent, and there are plenty of museums, galleries and theatres for those looking for a culture fix.

Shopaholics will find the usual mix of high-street stores along with exclusive boutiques, jewellers, antique shops and markets, while nature lovers can take a day trip to Prior Park, Cheddar Gorge or the Somerset coastline. There are enough cafés and restaurants to suit every taste.

If you’re thinking about a place to stay in Bath, have a look at The Bath House, a luxury B&B offering four star accommodation and free parking in Bath city centre, just minutes from all the top sights.

The modern and stylish rooms are all en-suite and equipped with everything you need for a great stay, including free WiFi, TVs and iPod docks. A delicious full English breakfast will be served to your room every morning, and for that added touch of luxury, you can arrange to have champagne and chocolates waiting for you on arrival.
