What kind of packer are you?

We all have our own routines when packing for a holiday. Some will begin planning weeks in advance, making lists and scheduling laundry loads; others will leave it till an hour before they leave, perhaps shoving in the odd item still damp from the washing machine at the last minute.

In the UK, a recent survey by holiday company Jet2holidays showed that the British are a nation of obsessive packers, with 75% of respondents claiming to have ‘neat and tidy’ packing habits, folding and rolling clothes to make the most of their suitcase space. 27% of people begin their packing at least a week before they leave, while 31% admit to repacking at least twice. It takes the average Brit one hour, 16 minutes and 28 seconds to get the job done.

13% of people reported habitually squashing too much in, while only 4% deliberately under-pack, travelling light and leaving plenty of space in their suitcases.

The survey also revealed that females are twice as organised as males when it comes to packing; 37% of women pack their suitcases at least a week before their trip, compared to just 18% of men.

What kind of packer are you? Are you as organised as the Brits? Do you arrive at the airport with bulging bags or do you leave plenty of room for souvenirs?
